Eligibility and Referral Process

Eligibility Criteria

1. Families with children indicated and/or at risk of child abuse and neglect.
2. Families residing in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry and Kershaw counties. Parent(s) or primary caregiver(s) able to participate in and benefit from home and center-based porgrams.
3. Referred parent(s) or primary caregiver(s) free of chemical dependency or participating in certified treatment program.
4. We also serve families whose children are in out-of-home placement, if their permanency plan includes reunification with referred parent(s).

Referral Process

For agency or self referrals, please download our referral form. Once completed, please fax form to the attention of Kerry Nguyen, our Intake and Community Development Coordinator, at 803.771.4367 or email to kepickens@thenurturingcenter.org. Kerry can be reached by phone at 803-771-2479 x 11.

Referring agencies are usually contacted within 10 working days regarding The Nurturing Center's response/action to the referral.
