- Center-Based Services: Families come
to The Nurturing Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from
9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.. Services include:
Individual “Family Service Treatment Plans” Parent
Program. Services include individual and family therapy, group therapy,
and parent education. Time for parent-child interaction helps parents
and children learn healthy ways to interact. Children’s
Program. Children, between the ages of birth and 5, are provided
therapeutic classes tailored to their age and social and emotional
needs. Play therapy and speech therapy are also available. Case Management/ Interagency Collaboration Home Visitation Certificate Award: “Certificate of Completion” awarded if the program is successfully completed. - Follow-Up
Services: We provide families who complete center-based services
ongoing support groups, referrals, family fun afternoons and home
visits.
- Teen Parenting Program: A unique program
designed for pregnant and parenting teens and their children, in
collaboration with 7 schools from the local school districts. Program
goals include reducing repeat teen pregnancies, reducing school
dropouts and improving early childhood development for teens’ babies.
- Century
Oak Resource Center: Created as the training and research extension of
the Nurturing Center, the CORC was established in 2001. The resource
center has hosted training sessions for SC DSS, Communities in Schools,
Parents Anonymous, A Better Way (Project Gang Out) and SCCADVASA.
